Spring Ligament Reconstruction with the Infinity-Lock™ 5mm Tape Animation

For spring ligament reconstruction using Infinity-Lock™ Tape

Adult Acquired Flatfoot Deformity (AAFD) is a condition defined by “medial foot arch insufficiency”, which is commonly caused by Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD) or deltoid spring ligament complex incompetency. Both etiologies have undergone substantial research to better understand their course and treatment. In severe AAFD, increasing tension on the interosseous and spring ligaments causes progressive peritalar subluxation, followed by deltoid and spring ligament insufficiency.

Indications

Infinity-Lock Tapes are indicated for patients requiring soft tissue approximation and reconstruction of ligaments and tendons.

These are single use devices intended to be used for tissue approximation in orthopaedic procedures, including use in reconstructing damaged or torn ligaments or tendons according to the surgeon’s own preferred technique and at his/her discretion.

The technique is suitable for cases including:

  • Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD): Especially in stage II.
  • Post-Traumatic Medial Column Instability: Neglected or missed injuries leading to progressive
    arch collapse.
  • Flexible Flatfoot Deformity: With symptomatic instability.
  • Hyperlaxity Syndrome in Adults: Causing significant deformity and discomfort.
  • Failure of Conservative Treatments: Cases unresponsive to orthotics, physical therapy, or shoe
    modifications.
  • Pain and Functional Impairment: Symptoms interfering with daily activities and walking.
